This was the moment that I realized I was being given my first DSLR camera and lens - as a graduation present! Yes, those are tears welling up in my eyes, and I have them again now, just thinking about it. I had just finished my Master’s degree, having spent nearly 8 long years in school. I was a starving student. My boyfriend was a starving artist. Unbeknownst to me, he had diligently saved up tips from every gig he'd played for over a year; all the while conspiring with my parents to give me something they all knew I would get a lot of enjoyment out of. I don’t think at the time they could have known just how much enjoyment and use I would get out of this present. Tens of thousands of photos later, here I am, more enthralled with photography than ever before.
This post is dedicated to everyone who has ever nurtured my love for photography in any way. Thank you for your encouragement, comments, and support. I hope each and every one of you finds that one thing, whatever it might be, that brings you happiness.
